Extracurricular activities at Settlement HSS
At Settlement HSS, students have the opportunity to participate in a variety of extracurricular activities during their time at school, from sport, music, and drama to personal development and community service programs. The school has produced a number of high calibre sportsmen and state-level athletes, a good number of musicians and dancers.
We have started a JRC unit in the school from the academic year 2014-15- The unit is functioning well under the able leadership of Mrs Anjali, Unit Counsellor.
The NSS by the Ministry of Youth Affairs & Sports, Government of India, allows HSS students to participate in community service programmes.
The settlement HSS has an extremely well-trained school band. The band is progressing well under the able leadership of Mr. Ajith M. K., bandmaster.
Keeping in mind the true democratic tradition of India, school elections are held every year and select School Chairman and School Leader. This parliament meets monthly to provide planning for many extracurricular activities including school magazines, sports & arts days
The School Magazine is a literary magazine for students, published yearly by a team of students under the guidance of teachers. This Magazine serves as a Year Book for the students that carries event photographs and Class Photographs of the respective Batches.
The School offers arts and craft training to every student who desires to develop their creative minds and in turn increase the success in the academic arena. All forms of arts and crafts, including sketching, sculpting, dancing, music, etc can be practiced by under-trained teachers.
Annual Sports Meet at Settlement School is a platform to showcase the talent and efforts put in by the student to make it a successful event with true sportsman spirit. The winners are sent to subdistrict athletic meet.
Students participated in the school youth festival with a competitive spirit. House wise competitions are held. The school-level winners are sent to the subdistrict youth festival competitions.
School annual day is celebrated every year on the month of January with colourful Programs. This day provides an opportunity to showcase our achievements and also gives students an opportunity to showcase their talents.
To inspire a healthy sense of competition, students of Settlement School have been allocated one of the four Dals. Students develop a sense of belonging and a feeling of unity in being a part of a specific house.
School Clubs are curriculum-related group activities by students under the leadership of teachers. We have a Science club, Social science club, and Language clubs, which are inaugurated in the month of June every year.
Every accademic year, a counselling sessions are arranged for the students of class X,XI and XII under the leadership of the P.T.A. This helps the students to develop self confidence, right attitude and goal setting in life.
