History, Administration and PTA of The Alwaye Settlement School
The Alwaye Settlement was founded by The Alwaye Settlement Society formed by twenty-one enlightened ecumenical, philanthropists in the year 1927 and was incorporated under the Travancore Companies Regulations on 24'" September 1935. Soon after the Alwaye Settlement Association was started, a primary school was started in 1927. A Boys’ Home was also started with free boarding and lodging facilities for the lowliest and humblest.
A land colonization scheme for the depressed classes was devised by our Founder Rev. L. W. Hooper and the Maharaja of Cochin gave 199.44 acres of forest land at Kodassery, Chalakkudy as leasehold land.
Later the primary school progressed up as a Malayalam school. The primary school was taken over by the Govt, and the school remained as a middle school. Mr. T.T. John succeeded Mr. M. Thommen as Headmaster. When the form (Std. VIII) was started in 1954 in the school, Mr. C. I. Mathunny (later Reverend) took charge as Headmaster. The high school became in complete shape in 1956. It continued in P. S. S. Scheme till KER came into force on 01-07-1959. Afterward, it changed its status as a recognized unaided school. The English Medium division was started in 1984. Higher Secondary School was started in 2004.

2004Higher Secondary School was started.
This school is managed by The Alwaye Settlement Society, a Trust under the chairman ship of Mr. George Thomas. The day to day administration activities of the school is managed by School Manager, The present Manager is Aliyas V.V. The academic activities of the school are under the leadership of Principal Smt. Vasanthakumari P.K , an educator with more than 25 years of experience in the field of education.
Parents are encouraged to meet the staff members in order to facilitate co-operation and collaboration in our educational work. The Parent-Teacher Association shall ordinarily meet annually to transact business and to elect office bearers and committees. In addition to the annual meeting, separate parent-teacher meetings are held for various classes.
